Due to his professional background as a lawyer specialized in IP, Mikel Díez-Sarasola is responsible for most of the legal issues related to the cultural public policies launched by the Department of Culture. In particular, Mikel is leading a committee of experts charged with elaborating a new act on cultural sponsorship. In the process of exploring and redefining new mechanisms of financing cultural projects, Mikel has been part of the “META” crowfunding initiative consisting of creating an internet platform to finance cultural projects of local communities from individuals contributions. Mikel is a Fulbright scholar and has a LLM degree by Boalt Hall UC Berkeley. Also, he has completed his doctoral studies on International law and International relations.
